Role Title: Mould Fitter
Full-Time Permanent
PM Shift 12:00-19:30
Harboro Rubber Co Ltd

We are seeking a skilled Mould Fitter to provide essential technical support to our moulding department. This role is a critical link between our tooling and production teams, responsible for the precision installation of moulds and the technical setup of our presses to ensure seamless manufacturing.

While we specialize in rubber components, we welcome applicants with a strong mechanical background from any technical moulding or industrial environment where precision tool fitting and heavy lifting are standard.

Skills & Technical Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a solid foundation in mechanical setup and tool care:

  • Tool Installation & Press Setup: Safely mount and dismount tools and moulds, ensuring all bolts, clamps, and spacers are secure and meet safety standards.
  • Process Optimization: Ability to connect heating/hydraulic services and regulate machine parameters—such as speed, temperature, and pressure—to ensure peak product quality.
  • Troubleshooting: Skill in identifying and resolving malfunctions or substandard quality issues during a production run.
  • Maintenance & Quality Control: Perform routine maintenance (cleaning/lubricating) and conduct “first-off” inspections to ensure products meet exact specifications.
  • Lifting & Slinging: Competence in the safe operation of overhead cranes and specialized lifting tackle to move heavy industrial moulds.
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to accurately record machine settings, production runs, and maintenance tasks.

Key Behaviours

We are looking for a team member who is methodical and takes personal pride in the readiness of their equipment:

  • Safety Consciousness: An unwavering commitment to safe working practices, particularly regarding heavy lifting, PPE, and high-temperature environments.
  • Methodical Focus: A disciplined, step-by-step approach to tool fitting to ensure no safety or quality steps are missed.
  • Reliability: A consistent commitment to having tools ready and staged ahead of the production schedule to minimize downtime.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work effectively with Co-ordinators and Operatives to synchronize activities and minimize disruptions.

The Opportunity This is a vital role for a hands-on professional who enjoys mechanical challenges and wants to be part of a high-standard manufacturing environment. You will play a direct part in our “Right First Time” success and help maintain our 5S “tour-ready” facility.
