Oil Prices

The price of oil, once $25/barrel, runs around $60/barrel today. All rubbers, carbon black and plasticisers are based on oil. This increase has slowly fed through the supply chain and impacted on the price of rubber materials during late 2005 and early 2006. The company has fought hard to maintain its prices through negotiations with its suppliers but the major polymer producers such as DuPont, Bayer, Enichem, Cabot etc. have themselves been unable to absorb such huge increases.
